Too loud!

This brand new refrigerator that was a replacement for a 13 year refrigerator is way too loud! It is louder than the rattling air-conditioner and television combined. Can™€™t get any peace with it. It has more cubic volume than previous fridge, but less surface area for food. I had to through out food. There is no freezer temperature control for ice cream hardness.

Product arrived as expected in good shape. Noticed the label on the back indicating that waves on the panels were normal due to the insulating process. Unfortunately, the waves extended a minimum of 1/4 inch on either side, thus making it larger than the space that it was to go into. Would have purchased a smaller fridge, had we known this. Required a full day of opening up the space that we didn't want to alter. Unfortunately returning the fridge would have been a bigger hassle.

The refridgerator functions well. It is a shame that it only comes in white at an affordable price. I have not experienced a higher electric bill yet so I am not sure on the energy savings. There is enough shelves and the capacity of both the refridgerator and freezer are sufficient for our needs.

Replaced our old one from ten years ago. Similar make and model. So far so good. This time we purchased an energy saving one and the noise is more noticeable compared to the old one. We also bought a slightly shorter one so there is slightly tighter, more narrow storage space but we make it work. Price wasn't too bad. GE is known to be reliable, but that is before its appliance manufacturing was outsourced to another country. We will have to see how long this one lasts.

Agree! Noisiest appliance ever! Can't hear self think, loud droning, even vibrates into other rooms. Sounds like A/C, fans left on in house. Forget about GE Support or any customer service once loud fridge is delivered, plugged in. Tried for weeks (many hours wasted) contacting every toll-free number, emailed every GE address online, NO ONE responds (except here on this site to appear they care) Absolutely ignored by GE reps and diverted back to original tel. # or email. Despite assurances a tech or representative will contact me, given the ultimate run around. Beware, lousiest customer service. Can't get answers for the simplest product question. Ignored, GE does NOT address once bought. Also, noisy fridge is poorly made with multiple exposed gummy insulation protruding from unexplainable odd holes both interior, exterior. Have peace and save yourself some grief, don't go GE for this fridge.

So far, I'm happy with the fridge. Works for me, small footprint..yet holds lots more than previous fridge. Doors hold surprising amount of large and small items including gallon sizes. Bins are clear and large, for instance 2 bags oranges and bag apples in one bin. Most importantly, it is quiet, no gurgling, motor idling, bodily functions, explosive pre-detination, turn tv volume up, stuff. Hallelujah! Just the normal sound after door been open if needs condenser cool, just a purr.
