I really like that there is shelving for milk in the door, that increases the capacity inside for other foods. The bottom freezer configuration is great, much easier to see what I have. The digital temperature setting is awesome, much better than a slider bar.

Beautiful refrigerator, tons of space, we love the door compartments and the placement of the shelves. The only complaint is it™€™s loud™€" We can hear it running from the other room. It seems too loud for a new refrigerator. The ice making function is really loud. We turned it off.

Perfectly matched the slate color of our other GE appliances (Microwave, Range, Dishwasher). This was our first Bottom-Freezer and love it - especially since we don't have to slide the Golden Retriever out of the way every time we want to open the refrigerator door ! It seems very efficient as we continue to bump up the temperature one degree every few days to prevent items from freezing. The only issue we are having is that the compressor sounds like it is working too hard when it is engaged - with high and low tones reverberating continuously. Not bad - but noticeably different from our 15yo GE top freezer unit.

Appliance works great but a few things are a little annoying. First is the load humming noise when it™€™s running. Over time we have gradually become accustomed to it though. Second, it seems when you shut the bottom freezer drawer a little too quickly it pops the upper door open a little which then sets off the alarm.

Louder than expected. It's located above a bedroom and when it was running during the night it kept us awake. The quality of and opening ease of the lower freezer door and interior drawers is less than expected. The large refrigerator door, when loaded, requires a real tug to open it. We wanted the GE slate with bottom freezer, and this was the only GE model that fit in our opening. Price was high and we expected better as part of our 4 appliance purchase.

Great solid / straightforward fridge

It's a struggle to find a fridge but this one fit all our needs and doesn't have a bunch of bells an whistles that will break or be high maintenacne. Also, I've heard other reviews (from Best Buy where we got it) that said it was noisy. The installer said it may be a tad noisy as it comes to temp and settles but honestly we hear NOTHING. It's great. Freezer feels a tiny bit cramped (we have the ice maker). Compared to the Kemore (made by LG) that we couldn't even get anyone to service (no one wanted to service LG...NO ONE...called 4 places) this has been a dream. Also, there's no in-door mechanics to fail, no circuit boards that will be affected by my wife's love of magnets all over the front. I love it because my wife loves it but it is a straightforward fridge. Really good space for it's size. Smartly laid out. Such a dream to have a bottom freezer again. We hate split doors, in-door ice and the rest. This really fits the bill.

Glass on one of the Shelves broke within the first 24 hours of delivery in small tiny pieces! Everything I had on the fridge below the shelves had to be thrown away!! And no, it didn™€™t have too much weight on the shelve™€¦ The shelve only had milk, butter and some cheese! I™€™d the shelve can™€™t hold that much something is very wrong!

Fridge was DOA and only uses expensive GE filters

The unit I had installed is DOA. I'm going to have to get a new fridge delivered and reinstalled. Additionally, the water filter has an RFID chip that prevents generic filters from being used. If I had know this was the case, I would have selected another brand. Over time, the GE filters will end up costing more than the refrigerator. Very disappointed in GE.

I really like my GE slate appliances. I recently bought the refrigerator to match the range and dishwasher. I chose the bottom freezer. I like the convenience of having a lot of the refrigerated items close to eye level. The ice maker works well. The freezer compartment is small but not too small. The door shelves are plenty deep enough to hold a gallon of milk. I haven™€™t filled up the refrigerator completely yet as I still have my old one in the garage. But it appears I will have plenty of space for everyday use.
